Mr. Schroeder, Mrs. Russell, and Dr. Larson recently returned from Washington, DC where they accepted the prestigious National Blue Ribbon Award from the US Department of Education on behalf of Winneconne Middle School. "We are very proud of Winneconne Middle School, but even more proud of our entire school district and our communities who support education. Our students are learning at high levels due to strong families and a community’s belief in education. Our elementary school provides the essential learning tools, a strong base so when our students enter middle school they are able to build on what they have learned. They move on to high school where our students experience success and opportunity. State Superintendent Carolyn Stanford Taylor congratulated eight schools in the Bayfield, Boyceville, Hamilton, Kenosha, Lake Geneva J1, Madison, Oak Creek-Franklin, and Winneconne Community school districts that received National Blue Ribbon School honors from the U.S. Department of Education today.
Wisconsin’s 2019 Blue Ribbon Schools were nominated by the state superintendent in January.
